Groundbreaking Ceremony to be held for New Tilden Gardens Residence in Brooklyn

(New York, NY) The Bridge, a non-profit agency that provides essential housing and mental health services throughout Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens, is beginning construction on a new 60 unit building in Brooklyn offering supportive housing for formerly homeless men and women with mental health conditions. The groundbreaking ceremony for Bridge Gardens is being held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 2513 Tilden Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. Tilden Gardens will provide housing with services for 45 homeless adults with mental health conditions, including Veterans, and 15 young adults between the ages of 18 and 25 aging out of foster care or children’s residential treatment facilities. (New York, NY) The Bridge, a non-profit agency that provides essential housing and mental health services throughout Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens, is beginning construction on a new 17 unit building in the Bronx for veterans who are struggling with chronic homelessness and mental illness. The Bridge Awarded $100,000 Grant from The van Ameringen Foundation to Establish The Road To Recovery Program

The van Ameringen Foundation has awarded a $100,000 grant to The Bridge, the non-profit provider of essential mental health and housing services throughout Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens to establish an innovative Road to Recovery Program (R2R). The program is targeted to Bridge residential clients who have been chronically homeless or had long stays in State psychiatric or correctional facilities to provide them with an introductory readiness experience prior to participating in more formal recovery programs (i.e. PROS, Supported Employment). Recipe Contest Held by The Bridge Based on their Urban Farm Program Press Release

(New York, NY) The Bridge, a non-profit agency providing mental health services and housing in Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens, announced today that they will be holding their first recipe contest from today through August 31st. The Bridge has Urban Farms at their residences and headquarters where clients work to grow and harvest fruits and vegetables. These client-cultivated Urban Farms are brimming with produce, and to help continue our healthy eating education efforts, The Bridge is requesting recipes for this contest. The winner will receive a $100 gift card to The Central Park Boathouse restaurant.
